Emily’s debut memoir, “Golden Scars: How the Death of My Husband Prepared Me to Battle Breast Cancer” chronicles her experience with breast cancer from diagnosis to treatment to life post-cancer. The diagnosis brought back memories of helping her mom navigate late-stage ovarian cancer before losing her to complications from the disease.

Searching deep inside, she found the courage she knew she would need to defeat cancer. She’d been through enough storms in her past that prepared her to weather this one.

Golden Scars is the story of Emily’s ability to overcome so much more than a cancer diagnosis.
